An Ode to Provence and Artisanal Know-How
For Carocim, Margaux Keller immersed herself in our Provençal roots. She drew inspiration from childhood memories, walks in the garrigue, and the vernacular architecture of the South. Cement tiles, with their mineral and velvety texture, emerged as the ideal medium for her artistic expression. "I love the idea that the floor tells a story, that it's not just a surface we walk on, but a landscape we traverse," she explains. Together, we worked on color and form to create patterns that are not simple geometric repetitions, but evocations. The vibrancy of our natural pigments, dyed throughout by our artisans, brings her designs to life with a depth that only the human hand can provide.
Toumeto: The Memory of the Tomette Reinvented
The result of this encounter is the "Toumeto" collection. A name that sings, evoking the traditional Provençal terracotta tile ("tomette" in Provençal). Margaux Keller deconstructed this iconic hexagonal shape and recomposed it in a modern style. She plays with scale, solids and voids, creating visual rhythms reminiscent of the weaving of a wicker basket or the shadows cast by shutters. It is a subtle and joyful homage to our heritage, treated with the freshness of a new perspective.
A Design That Brings a Smile to Everyday Life
Choosing a Margaux Keller design for Carocim means bringing a touch of poetry into your everyday life. It means accepting that your kitchen floor or bathroom wall can become a space for expressive expression. This collaboration perfectly embodies our vision: to be a decor manufacturer that respects the past while embracing contemporary design. With Margaux, the cement tile becomes a design object in its own right, capable of surprising and, above all, bringing a smile.
