Architect, interior designer, product designer and art director, Paola Navone's approach is frank, visionary and eclectic, with a passion for the tastes and colors of the southern hemisphere which she loves and knows so well, as well as the tastes and styles of the western world, with its rich traditions, receptiveness and dynamism.

All of this translates into a boundless curiosity, in search of materials, forms and structures from the present, the past and the future.

Founder of OTTO, her Milan-based design studio, she has organized numerous exhibitions worldwide and collaborated with leading figures in Italian and international design. Among her many awards are the Osaka International Design Award, several Elle Deco International Design Awards for product design, the internationally recognized Red Dot Design Award and Good Design Award, and a nomination from Interior Design magazine of New York for membership in the Design Hall of Fame.

At the helm of her Milan-based studio OTTO, Paola Navone orchestrates large-scale projects across the globe: hotels, restaurants, and exhibition designs. She collaborates with leading design publishers (Gervasoni, Cappellini, Driade, etc.) and her talent has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Osaka International Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and several Elle Deco International Design Awards. But beyond the accolades, it is her ability to create warm and relaxed atmospheres that has earned her renown. She was inducted into the Design Hall of Fame by New York's Interior Design magazine, a testament to a career dedicated to the art of living.

In Praise of Imperfection for Carocim

For Carocim, Paola Navone explored her fascination with "thammada" (the "daily" in Thai) and the beauty of imperfection. She loves cement tiles precisely because they are not perfect. She designed patterns that appear hand-drawn, irregular geometries that vibrate with energy. She chose colors that evoke the Mediterranean, but a raw and authentic Mediterranean. Her collection is a tribute to craftsmanship, where each tile bears the mark of both the tool and the hand.
