Green Algae Tile

The catalogue format is the 20 x 20 cm square, the natural scale of this cement tile and of its flowing seaweed motif. For a project needing something different, contact the Carocim workshop: as a hand-casting atelier it can study special requests, feasibility and cost depending on the moulds required. The standard square remains the reference.

One name answers it all: SU.Real, the collection designed by Marta Pignol for Carocim. There, L'Algue Verte joins a poetic, pop-surrealist family of figurative cement tiles. Its green and beige plant motif, inspired by marine algae, embodies the collection's fluid, contemporary spirit — nature redrawn with a dreamlike touch.

As a solitary accent, it holds the stage beautifully: one L'Algue Verte inserted among plain cement tiles creates a discreet marine wink, and a scattered constellation of them animates a whole floor. The green and beige organic forms drawn by Marta Pignol for Carocim are legible even on a single 20 x 20 cm square.

No, depth of colour changes nothing here: every cement tile Carocim destines for the outdoors, whatever its shade, receives the same systematic anti-UV treatment protecting pigments from fading. The green and beige of L'Algue Verte are therefore as stable as paler tones. Sealer maintenance, not colour choice, is what determines long-term brilliance.

Scuff marks usually surrender to a soft cloth, warm water and pH-neutral soap; a white eraser sponge used very lightly handles stubborn ones. Never scour a cement tile with abrasive powders or solvents. A well-maintained hydro-oil-repellent sealer, as Carocim recommends, keeps rubber marks sitting on the surface instead of anchoring.
