Description of tile Elephant Tile
The Elephant is part of the SU.Real collection, designed by Marta Pignol for Carocim®, from the "Animals" picture book.
The elephant in Surrealism is a fascinating and ambivalent symbol, notably explored by Salvador Dalí, who made it one of his emblematic motifs. Its meaning blends power, fragility, the metaphor of memory, and poetic imbalance.
Each tile is handcrafted using a demanding artisanal method. Composed of cement, sand, marble powder, and natural pigments, it is made without firing, using minimal water. Its texture and any slight irregularities reveal the artisan's touch and enhance its uniqueness.
