Large Butter Yellow Tile

Whatever the orientation, the protection is the same: Carocim systematically applies an anti-UV treatment to the cement tiles it produces for outdoor use, so L Jaune Beurre faces morning light or all-day sun with equal serenity. Its pale butter-yellow tone is shielded from fading either way; a maintained sealer completes the defence.

No universal figure fits every floor, but two thin coats of hydro-oil-repellent sealer are the common practice on a fresh cement tile, applied after complete drying of the installation. On a pale plain shade like this Carocim butter yellow, thin, even layers matter more than quantity — saturate the pores, wipe the excess, renew periodically.

Plan roughly 10 % above your measured surface: with L Jaune Beurre at €129.30 per square metre from Carocim, that margin covers cutting, occasional breakage and a few spare cement tiles for future repairs. Complex layouts or diagonal laying deserve a slightly larger cushion; a plain tile forgives cuts more easily than a patterned one.

None exists, quite deliberately: this model was conceived by the Carocim studio as a pure plain tile, a full butter-yellow surface with no drawn motif. It belongs to the Unis : les Jaunes collection, where colour itself is the design. Used alone or framing decorated cement tiles, its luminous simplicity is the whole point.

With so delicate a shade, choose a fine, unpigmented, cement-based grout in a light tone — pale grey or sand — that will not bleed into the porous surface. Avoid strongly coloured or epoxy grouts on a cement tile. Keep joints narrow, clean as you go, and follow Carocim's advice: seal only after everything has fully dried.
