Déscription du carreau Carreau la Colombe

The Dove is part of the SU.Real collection, designed by Marta Pignol for Carocim®, from the "Symbols" picture book.

In Surrealism, the dove symbolizes inner peace, spiritual elevation, and dreamlike purity. A silent messenger between worlds, it embodies the aspiration for harmony and the light of the unconscious.

Each tile is handcrafted using a demanding artisanal method. Composed of cement, sand, marble powder, and natural pigments, it is made without firing, using minimal water. Its texture and any slight irregularities reveal the artisan's touch and enhance its uniqueness.

FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Does the this colourway colourway of Carreau la Colombe go with light wood?

With light oak or ash, the pairing is among the most successful of all. The blue and white of this Carocim cement tile, carried by Marta Pignol's stylised dove, create with pale wood a soothing, luminous mood, seaside or Scandinavian in spirit. A gentle trio that lets the motif breathe — and the Carocim workshop can advise on tailored pairings.

Without any treatment, is Carreau la Colombe likely to stain?

Yes, the risk is real: left untreated, any cement tile stays porous and absorbs liquids. The water- and oil-repellent pore sealer recommended by Carocim is therefore essential to protect the Colombe's blue and white from grease or wine stains — when water stops beading on the surface, it is time to reseal. Once treated, pH-neutral soap is all it needs.

Does the this colourway shade of Carreau la Colombe cope with full sun?

Made for outdoor use, this cement tile receives the anti-UV treatment systematically applied by Carocim, which protects the pigments against discolouration. The deep blue and the white of the dove in mid-flight thus withstand full sun without weakening. The motif's soothing, symbolic character stays intact summer after summer.

What mood does the pattern of Carreau la Colombe create?

20 x 20 cm is all Marta Pignol needs to set a mood: her stylised dove, caught in mid-movement, spreads its blue and white curves across the whole tile. This cement tile from the SU.Real collection at Carocim radiates a soothing, luminous, symbolic atmosphere, somewhere between poetic flight and surrealist graphics.

Does Carreau la Colombe need waxing regularly?

Caring for a cement tile is simpler than people think: no systematic waxing required. On Carocim's Colombe, the water- and oil-repellent pore sealer applied at installation does most of the protective work; day to day, pH-neutral soap maintains the blue and white and lifts light grout haze. Never acid or bleach, which would attack the surface.
