Palermo Grey & White Tile

Everything you see comes from a hand: the grey and white pigments poured into a brass divider, the hydraulic press, the slow air curing without firing. This process gives Carreau Palermo Gris & Blanc its depth of colour and the gentle vibrations in its central medallion and corner arabesques. A Carocim cement tile is less a product than a repeated, patient gesture.

They are its birth certificate: micro-nuances of grey, slight softness in an arabesque line, tiny shade shifts between tiles all come from hand pressing, something no industrial process reproduces. Carocim regards these traces as the signature of a true cement tile. Laid together, the small variations of Carreau Palermo Gris & Blanc merge into a refined, softly breathing floor.

You will not face that scenario: protection is not an option left to the customer, since Carocim systematically applies its anti-UV treatment to exterior-bound cement tiles during production. The grey and white pigments of Carreau Palermo Gris & Blanc are therefore shielded from the start, and the refined medallion keeps its true colours under full sun, season after season.

A brass divider is the secret: this hand-made partition, shaped exactly like the medallion and arabesques, sits in the mould while the artisan pours the grey and white pigments into its compartments. Lifted away, it leaves the motif perfectly drawn; the hydraulic press then locks it into the wear layer. Centuries-old cement tile precision, alive in every Carocim Carreau Palermo Gris & Blanc.

Water is your honest witness: sprinkle a few drops on the cement tile surface. If they bead and sit proudly, the protection is active; if they darken the surface and soak in, it is time to reseal Carreau Palermo Gris & Blanc with a pore-filling product. Test yearly in busy areas, and keep cleaning gentle, as Carocim always advises: neutral soap only.
