Passionflower tile

Contrary to what many assume, a cement tile is never fired: Carreau Passiflore is poured colour by colour into a divider mould, pressed hydraulically, then cured slowly in the open air. This cold process, the traditional craft Carocim perpetuates, is precisely what preserves the delicacy of the pigments in the central rosette.

Yes and no: returns of unopened boxes are handled case by case, so check Carocim's current sales terms before ordering. The safest approach with a handmade cement tile like Carreau Passiflore is to measure carefully — each box holds 18 tiles covering 0.4 m² — and keep a few spares for future repairs.

Straight out of Carocim's Classiques collection, Carreau Passiflore has exactly the vocabulary of a bistro floor: central rosette, symmetrical shapes, a refined white-and-grey palette. Laid as an all-over carpet with a coordinating border, this cement tile brings instant retro charm — and its handcrafted surface only gains character with daily service.

18 tiles per box, and every one is pressed individually: the lines of Carreau Passiflore are crisp because the colours are poured into a divider mould before pressing. Slight, charming variations can appear from tile to tile — the signature of a genuine handcrafted Carocim cement tile rather than a printed product.

On a south-facing balcony, afternoon sun is relentless — and that is exactly what this design is prepared for. Rated for exterior use, Carreau Passiflore benefits from the anti-UV treatment Carocim systematically applies to its outdoor cement tiles: pigments are protected, and the white and grey palette stays true season after season.
