FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Does Carreau Villandry Uniforme keep its colours on a south-facing terrace?

On a south-facing terrace, sunlight is especially intense: Carreau Villandry Uniforme still keeps its colours thanks to the systematic anti-UV treatment Carocim applies to its outdoor cement tiles, which stabilises the pigments and prevents any premature fading of the pattern.

Are the pigments used for Carreau Villandry Uniforme natural?

Yes, Carocim's handmade cement tiles, including Carreau Villandry Uniforme, traditionally use mineral-based pigments rather than purely synthetic dyes, a practice inherited from the historic craftsmanship of artisans, passed down over generations at the workshop, tile after tile, year after year.

How much does it cost to cover 1 square metre with Carreau Villandry Uniforme?

You should budget €220.50 to cover 1 m² with Carreau Villandry Uniforme at Carocim's rate, made up of about 25 20 x 20 cm cement tiles, excluding any delivery or installation costs, which are charged separately by the fitter.

Should I be concerned about shade variations on Carreau Villandry Uniforme?

cause for concern: the slight shade variations sometimes visible on Carreau Villandry Uniforme are normal for a handmade cement tile, with Carocim viewing this trait as proof of authenticity rather than a manufacturing flaw worth worrying about in any way.

How can Carreau Villandry Uniforme be cleaned after building work without damaging it?

Right after installation, a cement tile is still sensitive to harsh products: to clean Carreau Villandry Uniforme without damaging it, Carocim recommends a pH-neutral soap, avoiding any acid or bleach that could permanently mark the still-fragile surface during this early period.
