Etna Black & White Tile

Defended from the factory onward: intended for exterior use, Carreau Etna Noir & Blanc receives the anti-UV treatment Carocim systematically applies to its outdoor cement tiles. Pigments are shielded from solar radiation, so the black and white of the radiating motif neither fade nor yellow. The dynamic, structured design stays exactly as bold as the day it was laid.

Twelve to a box, and no two strictly alike: hand pressing means each Carreau Etna Noir & Blanc shows micro-variations in shade and line intensity. Far from being flaws, these differences prove the tile's handmade origin and give the radiating black and white motif its living vibration. Mix tiles from several boxes when laying, as Carocim recommends for every cement tile.

The maths is friendly even without a tool: each 20 x 20 cm tile covers 0.04 m², each box of 12 covers 0.48 m². Divide your surface by 0.48, round up, and add the usual 10% cutting margin. One hundred tiles, for instance, make exactly 4 m². For a double check, send your measurements to Carocim: the team gladly validates cement tile quantities.

Before assuming a return, two thoughts: conditions for unopened boxes are confirmed directly with Carocim, so ask the team about your specific order. And consider keeping one box of Carreau Etna Noir & Blanc as insurance; a handmade cement tile batch is unique, and spare tiles from the original production are the best guarantee for future repairs.

Its energy adapts to both settings: in a period property, the radiating black and white geometry of Carreau Etna Noir & Blanc revives the great tradition of decorated cement tile floors; in a modern home, it reads as pure graphic design. Paola Navone drew it for Carocim precisely on that ridge line between heritage and contemporary structure.
