FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Does the sealer protect Carreau Girofle Vanille & Ste. Victoire from grease stains in the kitchen?

Yes, sealing matters at both stages: a first coat of water- and oil-repellent sealer usually goes onto the clean, dry cement tiles before grouting, to stop grout pigments lodging in the pores, then a final coat after grouting completes the protection. Treated this way, the vanilla and terracotta Girofle from Carocim shrugs off kitchen grease; wipe splashes promptly and clean with pH-neutral soap.

Was the pattern of Carreau Girofle Vanille & Ste. Victoire designed specially for Carocim?

A house design through and through: the Carocim studio redrew this symmetrical flower for its (Re)Visités collection, which reinterprets cement tile classics with a modern eye. That double heritage is precisely why the cream and terracotta Girofle suits a period property as naturally as a contemporary home — it speaks the old language with today's accent, and you won't find it in industrial catalogues.

Are there discounts on Carreau Girofle Vanille & Ste. Victoire for large quantities?

€220.50 per square metre is the reference price of this Carocim cement tile, so 20 m² represents €4,410 before any project-specific terms, with each 12-tile box covering 0.48 m². Ask Carocim directly for a formal quote: volume conditions, cutting margin and the handmade production lead time for the Girofle Vanille & Ste. Victoire are all confirmed at that stage.

How do I get the tile layout of Carreau Girofle Vanille & Ste. Victoire right?

Good preparation comes before the first cut. Use a wet saw with a fine diamond blade, feed the tile slowly and cut face up to keep the vanilla and terracotta pattern crisp; a dry run of the layout limits the number of cuts needed at the edges. Laid with double-buttering and fine joints, this Carocim cement tile rewards the extra care handsomely.

Is the pattern of Carreau Girofle Vanille & Ste. Victoire likely to fade in the sun?

No need to lose sleep over it: Carocim systematically gives its outdoor cement tiles an anti-UV treatment, and this design benefits from it. The terracotta flower on its vanilla ground is protected against fading, its mineral pigments being naturally very stable. A regularly maintained water-repellent sealer completes the defence against sun and weather.
