Déscription du carreau Kros Vanilla & Sainte-Victoire Red Tile

Carocim invited Baptiste Vandaele to breathe new life into his "Les petites combines" patterns. These iconic designs, emblematic of the designer, are revisited to give them a new dimension.

The Kros Vanilla & Sainte-Victoire Red cement tile from the (RE)Visités collection, crafted through precise handwork, requires six steps, all carried out by the artisan's hand. Each tile is made from natural pigments, sand, marble, and cement, following an environmentally friendly process.

This tile requires no firing and uses very little water during its production. Any slight variation or irregularity testifies to the authenticity and artisanal expertise that characterizes Carocim.

FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Is Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire guaranteed against fading?

Sunny locations call for no exclusions here: because Carocim treats its outdoor cement tiles against UV as standard, both the vanilla ground and the Sainte-Victoire red cross of this tile are protected from fading. Choose Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire freely for bright terraces — the contrast is made to endure.

Which kind of lighting best brings out Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire?

Yes, it outlasts trends remarkably well: geometry ages better than ornament, and the vanilla-and-red cross of Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire reads as boldly today as it will in twenty years. A handmade Carocim cement tile carries its own timelessness — the craft anchors it while the graphic keeps it current.

Does the water-repellent sealer make Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire completely waterproof?

Thin, successive coats are the rule: apply the water- and oil-repellent sealer on a clean, dry Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire until the surface stops absorbing, wiping off any excess before it dries. Carocim's guiding test for this cement tile is simple — when water beads instead of soaking in, protection is achieved.

What visual effect does the pattern of Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire create once laid?

One grid, crossing diagonals: baptiste Vandaele built the Kros pattern by interlacing broad bands until they formed a graphic cross filling the 20 × 20 cm square. Developed for Carocim, the design was then translated into a divider mould so artisans could reproduce it in pigmented cement, tile after tile — drawing become cement tile.

What does the six-stage production of Carreau Kros Vanille & Rouge Sainte-Victoire involve?

Picture a metal stencil with raised walls tracing the cross motif: that is the divider mould. Placed in the tile frame, its compartments are filled by hand — vanilla here, Sainte-Victoire red there — before it is lifted away and the tile pressed. This is how Carocim draws each cement tile in coloured matter.
