The Constellation Tile

No, not busy: rather abundant and controlled at once. A central star surrounded by a multitude of golden celestial bodies sparkles on the midnight blue of this Carocim cement tile. Marta Pignol balances celestial density and readability: laid as a field, the SU.Real motif creates a continuous starry sky, captivating without ever tiring the eye — no separate borders are listed.

The figure to remember is €245.70 per m² of tiles. For a 10 m² floor in Carreau la Constellation, budget around €2,457 for supply, excluding adhesive, grout and installation — more than standard ceramic, as each piece is handmade. This Carocim cement tile is ordered in boxes of 12 covering 0.48 m², with a cutting margin for the midnight blue and yellow starry sky.

25 tiles per m², and as many micro-variations: every cement tile hand-pressed in the Carocim workshop shows slight nuances of midnight blue and yellow, sometimes with tiny surface pinholes. Far from being a flaw, these differences make the starry sky vibrate once installation is complete, like a real night vault where no two stars shine exactly alike.

Built for the outdoors, this cement tile is covered by the anti-UV treatment Carocim systematically applies to its exterior tiles. The deep midnight blue and the luminous yellow of the stars are thus protected against discolouration. On a terrace or balcony, the Constellation keeps its celestial glow year after year.

No, there is no dedicated skirting or border in the catalogue for this motif: the Constellation comes as a 20 x 20 cm cement tile, 16 mm thick — a thickness inherited from its pressed, unfired structure, greater than porcelain. Nothing stops you cutting skirting from the tiles themselves, a common practice. The Carocim team can advise on finishes suited to the midnight blue and yellow decor.
