Déscription du carreau Blue Butterfly Tile

The Blue Butterfly is part of the SU.Real collection, designed by Marta Pignol for Carocim®, from the "Animals" picture book.

In the surrealist imagination, the blue butterfly is a rare symbol of freedom, elevation, and inner quest. Its intense and vibrant color evokes waking dreams, suspended moments, and elusive beauty.

Each tile is handcrafted using a demanding artisanal method. Composed of cement, sand, marble powder, and natural pigments, it is made without firing, using minimal water. Its texture and any slight irregularities reveal the artisan's touch and enhance its uniqueness.

FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Is Carreau le Papillon Bleu suitable for a period house?

At 20 x 20 cm with a bold Pop design, this Carocim cement tile is built for a contemporary look rather than a period restoration. In a farmhouse full of character, it works best as a graphic accent — a single eye-catching note set against exposed stone and old mouldings.

Does the box of Carreau le Papillon Bleu include spare tiles?

At Carocim, each reference ships as a full box rather than loose pieces: the Papillon Bleu box holds 12 cement tiles covering 0.48 m². It doesn't include dedicated spare tiles, so it's worth ordering a small extra margin to cover cuts and any breakage in transit.

Should I worry about Carreau le Papillon Bleu fading outdoors?

Yes, under normal outdoor use: Carocim applies a systematic anti-UV treatment to its cement tiles made for exterior settings, which durably protects the blue, black and white pigments of the Papillon Bleu against sun-related fading. Regular care with a suitable product keeps this colour retention strong over time.

Does the pattern of Carreau le Papillon Bleu suit a contemporary interior?

The Papillon Bleu motif shows a butterfly with wings spread, richly detailed in blue, black and white on this square 20 x 20 cm Carocim cement tile. It's a brand-new design by Marta Pignol, not a reissue of a historic pattern, and its vibrant graphic rendering suits a contemporary interior that embraces a bold, pop-inspired decor on floors or splashbacks.

What craftsmanship lies behind Carreau le Papillon Bleu?

At 16 mm thick, the Papillon Bleu is entirely handmade: each cement tile is poured and hand-pressed using the traditional cement tile technique, one motif at a time, then left to cure slowly for lasting strength. Carocim doesn't publish an exact headcount, but this manual craftsmanship explains the tile's natural, subtle variation piece to piece.
