0.48 m² per box laid, and now the first days matter: protect the fresh Carreau Star Noir floor from traffic, remove any grout haze gently, then apply the pore-filling sealer once fully dry. Wash only with neutral soap — no acid, no bleach. This early Carocim routine sets up the cement tile for decades of easy care.

Against comparable encaustic tiles, one difference stands out: Carocim treats every outdoor cement tile against UV as standard, not as an option. Carreau Star Noir therefore faces the sun with protected pigments and colours that stay true, where untreated tiles may fade unevenly. Add the 16 mm body and the star keeps its crisp contrast.

Yes, the eight-pointed star of Carreau Star Noir is an original Carocim design from the Classiques collection. Rooted in the great geometric tradition of the cement tile, it was redrawn by the house to connect flawlessly in every direction. Black and white, graphic and timeless — a signature pattern pressed into the tile's very mass.

Hand-pressing guarantees character rather than uniformity: from one Carreau Star Noir to the next, the intensity of the black may vary by a breath, as pigments are mixed in small artisan batches. Blend tiles from several boxes when laying and the Carocim floor reads as one vibrant surface — a depth no industrial cement tile imitation achieves.
