FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Which wall colours go with Carreau Tangeant Verdon?

Named after the Verdon river, this blue keeps a distinctly cool, watery temperament — yet the hand-pressed matte surface of the Carocim cement tile softens it with mineral warmth. In daylight, Carreau Tangeant Verdon reads fresh and serene; under warm evening lighting, it deepens toward a gentle slate. Pair it with brass or pale wood to coax out its warmer side.

How was the pattern of Carreau Tangeant Verdon created?

Yes, it genuinely departs from the classics: where traditional cement tile patterns favour rosettes, stars and arabesques, Carreau Tangeant Verdon strips everything back to two symmetrical tangent curves. This minimal geometry, drawn by Carocim for the Sim.PL collection, owes more to contemporary graphic design than to the 19th-century repertoire. The technique is ancestral; the drawing is resolutely of today.

Does Carreau Tangeant Verdon still look the same after years in the sun?

Mellowing is indeed the right word: thanks to the anti-UV treatment Carocim systematically applies to its outdoor cement tiles, the pigments of Carreau Tangeant Verdon are protected from genuine fading. What years of sunlight bring instead is a soft, even patina that deepens the blue's character. Keep the sealer maintained and the change stays graceful, never washed-out.

Why is Carreau Tangeant Verdon so thick?

20 x 20 cm is the canonical format: the tangent curves of Carreau Tangeant Verdon were composed for this square module, where their four-way repeat works its magic. Carocim does not list a rectangular edition of this drawing, though the workshop's artisanal setup means special formats can always be discussed. For linear effects, simply orient the curves in running rows. This Carocim cement tile is handmade in the workshop.

Who publishes the collection Carreau Tangeant Verdon belongs to?

One geometric alphabet unites them: sim.PL, the Carocim collection that includes Carreau Tangeant Verdon, is built entirely on elemental shapes — tangent curves, triangles, rosaces — drawn tone on tone or in quiet two-colour palettes. Every cement tile shares the 20 x 20 cm module, the hand-pressed finish and the same pared-back contemporary spirit, so mixing pieces feels effortless.
