FAQ

Vos questions fréquentes

Can Carreau Vague Velvet be bought loose, outside a full box?

For a 12 m² floor, count 25 boxes exactly: each carton of Carreau Vague Velvet holds 12 cement tiles and covers 0.48 m², so 12 divided by 0.48 gives 25. Add a box or so for cuts and future repairs, and Carocim will confirm final quantities with you when you order this blue and beige design.

Is the this colourway shade of Carreau Vague Velvet lighter in real life than in the photos?

No glassy shine here, and that is the point: Carreau Vague Velvet offers deep, matte, mineral colours — a bold blue against soft beige — where glazed tiles reflect light from a shiny surface. The pigments of this Carocim cement tile sit in the material itself, giving a velvety saturation that feels richer and more natural than gloss.

Does the colour of Carreau Vague Velvet change with sun exposure?

Full afternoon sun is exactly what it was prepared for: Carocim systematically treats its outdoor cement tiles against UV, so the blue and beige pigments of Carreau Vague Velvet are protected and the colours stay real. On a balcony, simply maintain the pore-filling sealer and clean with neutral soap to keep the wave looking freshly laid.

Why does Carreau Vague Velvet cost this much?

€220.50 per square metre positions Carreau Vague Velvet as a designer artisanal piece: you pay for hand production, pigments coloured through the wear layer, a 16 mm body, systematic anti-UV treatment and an original Heju design. Rather than competing with industrial imitations, this Carocim cement tile competes on longevity, authenticity and creative signature.

Does the design of Carreau Vague Velvet form an overall pattern once the tiles are put together?

In its making, yes — in its drawing, no: Carreau Vague Velvet is produced with the traditional handcraft of the cement tile that Carocim keeps alive, but its bold wavy divide in blue and beige is a contemporary creation by studio Heju. Heritage technique, modern eye: that pairing is the very identity of this collection.
