No official design time is published, but the result speaks for itself — a minimalist, chic cement tile where vanilla and midnight blue find a perfectly balanced tension.

Yes, sealing is a must: after laying, apply a pore filler to saturate the natural porosity of the cement tile, then a water-repellent sealer suited to cement surfaces. This duo keeps water and stains out while preserving the matte depth of the vanilla and midnight-blue shades. Carocim advises completing both steps before using the floor.

Packaging is straightforward: boxes of 12 cement tiles, each covering 0.48 square metres. The Zag Vanille & Bleu Nuit, 20 × 20 cm and 16 mm thick, travels well protected inside. At 25 tiles per square metre, you can quickly work out how many Carocim boxes your project requires.

Two things set this cement tile apart outdoors: the systematic anti-UV treatment Carocim applies to its exterior tiles, and pigments chosen to last. While untreated encaustic tiles can fade unevenly in strong sun, the vanilla and midnight-blue tones of the Zag Vanille & Bleu Nuit stay protected from discolouration year after year.

Routine care is actually much simpler: once this cement tile has received its pore filler and sealer, regular cleaning with warm water and a neutral soap is enough. Wax is optional — some owners like the extra patina it brings. What matters, Carocim insists, is avoiding acids and bleach, which harm the surface far more than skipping wax ever would.
