Yellow & White Zig Tile

Two creative forces shaped it: designer Baptiste Vandaele and the Carocim workshop. Their collaboration produced the Zig pattern — wide parallel diagonal bands — here dressed in yellow and white for a luminous, sun-filled effect. The Zig Jaune & Blanc is a cement tile born of that meeting between contemporary design and artisan craft.

For budgeting purposes, the figure is clear: the Zig Jaune & Blanc is priced at 220.50 euros per square metre at Carocim. That covers a fully handmade cement tile, 20 × 20 cm, packed in boxes of 12 covering 0.48 square metres. Allow 25 tiles per square metre, plus a cutting margin.

No, they will not: like every Carocim cement tile intended for outdoor use, the Zig Jaune & Blanc systematically receives an anti-UV treatment. Its yellow and white pigments are protected from discolouration, so the tile's sunny radiance stays vivid even in direct light, on a terrace or an exposed balcony.

Not at all — they are part of the story: tiny pinholes and slight surface irregularities are natural marks of a handmade cement tile, pressed and cured without firing. On the Zig Jaune & Blanc they add texture and authenticity, and once the Carocim tile is sealed after laying, they have no effect on durability.

Two conditions make it possible: a rigorously waterproofed substrate, and a complete sealing of the cement tile — pore filler then water repellent — after laying. Met, they let the Zig Jaune & Blanc bring its sunny stripes to a shower area. Renew the protection regularly and clean with neutral soap, as Carocim advises for wet rooms.
