Toumèto Green Pine Forest Tile

The good sun resistance of Imagier Astros Rouge Sainte-Victoire mainly comes from the anti-UV treatment Carocim systematically applies to its cement tiles meant for outdoor use. This treatment protects the red pigments in depth, rather than just adding a surface film. The quality of the mineral pigment Carocim uses also plays a part, offering better stability than less resistant colourants.

Following on from the Zodiac collection, Carocim and designer Claire Detallante wanted to offer a more abstract take on the sky, centred on stars rather than astrological signs. The Astros collection grew out of this wish to simplify the pattern while keeping the house's graphic, surreal spirit. Imagier Astros Rouge Sainte-Victoire reflects this direction with a deep red that strongly structures the cement tile.

The design of Imagier Astros Rouge Sainte-Victoire works just as well repeated across a whole room as it does used as a defined rug-style area, framed by a plain tile. This flexibility comes from how the pattern is composed, designed to repeat without any visible break on the cement tile. Carocim recommends the rug-style option for a hallway or living room, and continuous laying for a kitchen or corridor.

Outdoors, Imagier Astros Rouge Sainte-Victoire keeps the intensity of its red thanks to the anti-UV treatment Carocim systematically applies to its cement tiles meant for outdoor use. This protection markedly slows the effect of sunlight on the pigments compared with an untreated tile. Regular cleaning with a neutral soap further reinforces this durability over time.

A kitchen floor is exposed to grease and water splashes far more often than most other rooms in the house. Imagier Astros Rouge Sainte-Victoire suits this setting perfectly, provided a water- and oil-repellent sealer, the kind Carocim recommends, protects the surface of the cement tile as soon as it is laid. The deep red of the pattern also has the advantage of hiding everyday marks well.
