Toumèto Green Pine Forest Tile

The Zodiac collection focuses mainly on tiles with a central pattern rather than on dedicated border strips for each colourway. To go with Imagier Zodiac Ebony Noir, Carocim instead suggests pairing it with a plain cement tile in a dark shade around the edge of the room. This creates a simple frame that shows off the central pattern without competing with it.

Yes, without a water- and oil-repellent sealer, a cement tile stays porous and can absorb water or grease enough to leave a visible mark. On Imagier Zodiac Ebony Noir, such stains would stand out all the more given how easily deep black reveals any change to the surface. Carocim therefore recommends applying this treatment as soon as it is laid, before the room sees everyday use.

One box of Imagier Zodiac Ebony Noir contains 12 cement tiles, packaged to limit breakage during transport. At 25 tiles per square metre for this 20 x 20 cm format, one box covers around 0.48 square metres. Carocim recommends mixing the contents of several boxes before laying to spread the natural shade variations evenly.

The mineral pigments used for Imagier Zodiac Ebony Noir are chosen by Carocim for their long-term stability, including against ultraviolet light. This deep black also benefits from the anti-UV treatment systematically applied to cement tiles intended for outdoor use. This double protection, from both pigment and treatment, greatly limits the risk of fading over the seasons.

A special format often requires a dedicated mould, which is not always compatible with the small-scale artisanal production of cement tile. Imagier Zodiac Ebony Noir therefore remains available in its reference square format of 20 x 20 cm at Carocim. For a very specific need, the workshop can still be contacted to look into a possible adaptation.
