Patterns designed like a construction set

The signature of this collection lies in its modularity. Baptiste Vandaele designed each tile not as a finished design, but as an elementary building block.

Take iconic patterns like Zig or Zag. These are seemingly simple geometric designs. But the real genius lies in the layout (the art of arranging the tiles). Depending on whether you lay the tile in the same direction, rotate it a quarter turn, or alternate it, you get a radically different result:
